Post 7: Ch. 9-10

Here are some terms mentioned in the chapters that you may not know about:

Ch. 9

1. The Lawrence Welk Show (When Mr. Watson talked about getting a free divorce if he watched it)

Why do you think Byron  doesn't keep his resolution not to talk during the whole trip to Alabama?

    because he wants to talk and its hard to not talk for 3 days.

    He doesn't talk because he is trying to make his parents feel bad so they can change their mind.

      I agree with you Holly,because I was in that situation I wouldn't talk to anybody! The reason for that is if I made my parents figure out how I felt and let them know that I would HATE them FOREVER I would hope they would give me another chance and turn around and take me back home.

    I think Byron started talking on the way to Alabama because he was tired of being silent and wanted to talk. (By talking i mean being rued to Kenny) I think he wanted to make trouble and start being rude to Kenny.

    Because he figured out it doesn't have a affect on his parents. So why do something to annoy them if it won't do anything? Is probably what he thought. And also maybe he wanted to say something, because he asked about who's song they were going to listen to.

    I think Byron couldnt handle being quiet anymore, and made the most of the trip and tried to act good so he didnt have to go to Alabama so long.

    I think that Byron does not keep his resolution about not talking, because it is hard to go with out talking, especially if he was about to leave his family.

    It is very hard not to talk for a whole bunch of hours. Don't blame him; I can't do it!!!

    He was tired of NOT talking and he probably really wanted to play a song on the record player, so he asked if they were going to take turns playing songs.
